Tragedy in the Skies: Ahmedabad Plane Crash Shocks the Nation
Ahmedabad, June 12, 2025 — In a heartbreaking incident that has stunned the country, a small passenger aircraft crashed near Ahmedabad early Wednesday morning, leaving the city gripped by grief and disbelief.
The plane, operated by a regional carrier and en route from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, went down shortly before its scheduled landing at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. Initial reports confirm that the aircraft lost communication with air traffic control moments before the crash.
Authorities say there were 32 people onboard, including 4 crew members. Emergency teams rushed to the crash site near Sanand, just outside the city. So far, 18 casualties have been confirmed, while rescue efforts continue in hopes of finding survivors among the wreckage.
Eyewitnesses described a terrifying scene. “We saw the plane flying unusually low, and then a loud explosion shook the ground,” said Ravi Patel, a local farmer who was among the first to reach the crash site. “Smoke was everywhere. It was hard to believe what we were seeing.”
